Redhill's George Bond got sent off on 16 minutes for a high foot challenge and received a straight red. A big factor in the game? Maybe Redhill were were too up for this tie. Not too many protests from their bench at the decision.

 

Vale 9 Kyen Nicholas opened the scoring in the 4th with a far post header from a great Theo Osinfolarin right sided cross. 1-0. Kyen is ticking along nicely this season getting his 4th goal & 2nd assist of 26/27 with 10 games gone.

 

Right back Theo Osinfolarin getting his 2nd 26/27 assist both in cup games, both superb deep early crosses finished by headers. Very effective delivery.

 

Vale relaxed being 1 up vs 10 men, seemed to go into cruise mode when they should've been finishing the game off. Instead ex Vale 9 Aiden Brown equalised for the Lobsters on 37' after RP GK Faebian Witter parried another ex Vale man, Paddi Haarland-Goddard's fierce low shot. Brown ran in from the right to finish. 1-1. The striker scores at every club he's been at.

 

After what threatened to be a procession for the home Step 4 side, the 10 man Step 5 visitors had got themselves back into the game. HT 1-1

 

Redhill, going well in the CCL Premier South, were out from HT early, 3 mins before Raynes Park Vale.

 

2-1. Omarr Lawson gets his 1st goal of 26/27, a nicely placed shot from 11 yards. Plenty of players in the box but Kyen Nicholas managed to nod the ball on and fell to Lawson central, one touch and the ball was dispatched beating another ex RPV player, Redhill GK James Dillon to his left.

 

2-2 Redhill equalise again. Tyrese Sutherland with a good turn & finish making himself time to pick his spot. The goal came from RP defence losing possession on the left on 58,' with the Redhill right winger having a load of space open to run into and cut back the assist.

 

Game was very even until late on when a penalty for hand ball effectively finished the tie.

 

3-2 & 4-2. Bang, bang. Omarr Lawson completes his HAT-TRICK with 2 very well struck pens scored in the bottom left corner on 86 & 95 mins. Great to see Josh Bassey's 1st assist for the Vale when he burst through on goal & got bought down for the 2nd pen.

 

Raynes Park Vale through to the next round.
